ALLDAYS BUSHVELD FESTIVAL AND FLY IN 2014
By Willie Bodenstein
Now in its fourth year Alldays is firmly established on the airshow calendar.
Two things make Alldays different; The fly in is combined with a Bushveld festival and the approximately one hour forty five minute flight from Johannesburg up north to Alldays that is about 30 miles south of South Africa's border with Botswana takes one over the splendour of the Bushveld that has a beauty all of its own.
Peculiar rocky hills and a myriad of settlements dots the Bushveld
Arriving on Friday afternoon
And on Saturday afternoon
Although the number of visiting aircraft was down from 2013 more than sixty visitors made the most of the pleasant winter weather with a large number opting to camp under the wings at the field that offered sufficient ablutions facilities.
Jaco and Pearl from Krugersdorp opted to camp at the field
Whilst the Harvard Club members spend the two nights at a hunters camp.

A happy Peter Lea after his Harvard flip piloted by Pilots Post correspondent Ivan van der Schaar
A wide variety of food stalls, a beer tent with big screen television, stalls that sold everything from solar power generators to farm implements and all day long live entertainment or just relaxing with friends watching the arrivals and departures kept every one occupied.

From big…………………………….
To small………………………………….
A classic………
And everything in between visited
The ATC of Tyrone Appel, Evette Coetzen, Ivan Louw and Riaan Olivier handled the constant stream of aircraft superbly whilst Safety Officer Nigel Musgrave ensured that everything ran according to the book.
My sincere thanks to Jaco and Pearl for the flight up north in their superb Cessna 206 as well as to Peter Lea for the mini flying safari in his fabulous RV10 along the banks of the Limpopo river that forms the border with our northern neighbours.
