ATNS WOMEN WELCOME CHAD AND CAMERON

An all-lady team of Air Traffic Controllers, based at the OR Tambo International Airport started their shift this morning on a high note.

At approximately 06h40 this morning these distinguished ladies, welcomed SAA Flight SA 235 into our (SA) airspace, en route from London. Our golden boys, Chad Le Clos and Cameron van der Burgh were on board.

The team made sure that the aircraft reached its destination - OR Tambo International - safely. Touchdown was at 06h59.

It being Women's day, it was no coincidence that the team found themselves behind the controls. ATNS, in terms of its Employment Equity Policy, took a strategic decision to accelerate the development of women within the organization, and to contribute to a marked degree, such development within the Aviation industry as a whole.

The developmental scope includes but is not limited to academic empowerment, skills development, coaching and mentoring.

By developing women in this way, ATNS is determined to prove that careers in Aviation are not gender-specific.
