Oshkosh AirVenture 2017 Day 6

Regular AirVenture visitors will probably remember 2017 as “The year of the bomber”. With a B-17 Flyingfortress, more than a dozen B-25 Michel Bombers, two B-29 Superfortresses, two B-52 Startofortresses, two B1B Bombers and my personal favourite, the B-2 Stealth Bomber, Day 6 of AirVenture lived up to its theme of “Bomber Day”.

In what was probably a once-off occurrence, we were entertained by a B1B, a B-52 and a B-2 in a single formation.

The fabulous Blue Angel team performed their second display and as expected, they again impressed the crowds with a slightly adjusted routine from what they performed yesterday.

After the afternoon air show, various bomber pilots and bomber squadron leaders appeared in the “Theatre In The Woods” sharing bomber tactics and stories.

The day closed with an evening air show, a mind blowing fireworks display and as always, the Oshkosh “Great Wall of Fire”.
